As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Pat has been working with individuals in a variety of counseling settings for over 25 years and since 2011 she has been working with individuals in her private practice.
In her work with clients, Pat Thorne utilizes a solution focused, strengths-based approach to address diverse issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss. She helps individuals who are struggling through difficult life transitions either in their personal relationships or their jobs. Working with clients, Pat addresses their unique concerns and helps them to identify positive coping strategies so they can live more balanced, centered and productive lives.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Pat worked as the Finance & Administration director for several large corporations for over 18 years. She understands the unique issues facing professionals who are struggling to balance the often conflicting stressors of their personal & professional life. In her Farmville counseling practice Pat utilizes a personal coaching technique to help professionals work through these issues to help them find a more successful and productive work/life balance.
In her previous work as a hospice and oncology social worker and today as a caregiver educator and advocate, Pat has over 22 years of experience working with family caregivers. She recently created The Sojourner Project and Caregivers School as a way to provide education and training to help families cope with the stress of caring for a loved one.
