About Pat Thorne, MBA, LCSW

. . . providing help for your journey

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience helping adults navigate stress, transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Since 2011, I’ve worked in private practice supporting clients through the complexities of personal and professional life—with empathy, clarity, and a practical, solution-focused approach.

I specialize in working with busy professionals who are juggling demanding careers, life changes, and the weight of high expectations. Whether you’re navigating workplace burnout, relationship stress, anxiety, or grief, I’m here to help you find steadier ground and move forward with more balance and confidence.

A Solution-Focused Approach

My style is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in real-life strategies. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, focusing on what’s most important to you. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, coping, and meaningful change.

Areas I commonly support include:

  • Work-related stress and burnout
  • Anxiety, overthinking, and emotional fatigue
  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Professional identity shifts and role strain
  • Navigating change in relationships or career

A Unique Perspective on Professional Stress

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 18 years in corporate leadership as a Finance and Administration Director—all while raising my daughter as a single parent. I know what it’s like to manage high-stakes work, care for your family, and try to find a moment to breathe somewhere in between.

That lived experience shapes the way I work today. I bring not just clinical expertise, but real-world understanding. In addition to counseling, I often integrate coaching-style strategies to help clients build resilience, reconnect with what matters most, and redefine success on their own terms.

Support for Caregivers

After leaving the corporate world, I spent nearly a decade working as a hospice and oncology social worker—supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. That experience led me to develop a caregiver training program designed to help family members feel more prepared, confident, and supported in their roles.

While my primary counseling focus is on working professionals, I also continue to support family caregivers through my companion site. There, I offer access to Caregiver School: A Training Program for the Family Caregiver—available as both an audio podcast series and a print book—along with guidance toward helpful resources and much-needed emotional support and counseling.
